Regional offices

The four field branches of the NPWS have their main centres in Grafton, Queanbeyan, Parramatta and Dubbo. Together, they incorporate 19 regions, made up of more than 50 areas, with offices located in local towns. There are also a number of visitor information centres and works depots strategically located to meet the needs of the community and to manage protected areas.

Field directorates conserve natural and cultural heritage at a local and regional level. The directorates develop partnerships with the community and other governments and agencies, and provide leadership and direction through conservation programs.

The map below shows the 19 NPWS regions. Click a region on the map, or on the list beside it, to get:

  • a list of parks and reserves in the region
  • contact details for the regional office and advisory committee inquiries.
