Which parks charge daily vehicle entry fees?
Day passes relate to vehicles, not to people, so you only need to pay for each vehicle you bring into the park (including motorbikes).
Parks charging entry fees are generally those which receive very high levels of visitation. In these parks, it costs a lot to provide and maintain roads, visitor facilities and other infrastructure.
Your support directly helps the NPWS to:
- maintain and improve visitor facilities
- conserve threatened species and their habitats
- protect sites of cultural significance
- carry out pest control programs.
The list below shows which parks charge vehicle entry fees, and how much you'll have to pay for each day of your visit. You must display a valid entry pass on your vehicle while you're in the park, or else you may be fined. Some parks have self-registration boxes, or coin-operated 'pay and display' machines, so you'll need to bring the right change - call ahead to check.
Remember, if you're a regular park visitor, you can save on vehicle entry fees by buying an annual pass.
