Reporting
DECC is required to provide an annual progress report on the performance of the NSW Government Sustainability Policy to the Minister for Climate Change and Environment through the Sustainability in Government CEOs group. A detailed report is also required every three years.
Reporting requirements
Reporting requirements under the NSW Government Sustainability Policy have been streamlined in accordance with the Internal Government Red Tape Review recommendations.
Water and energy data for agencies with fewer than 200 staff, and those operating primarily out of office space, will be collated annually by DECC. These agencies no longer have to provide a WRAPP report to DECC, but are required to report on waste every three years in their annual reports.
Larger agencies will be required to report on energy, water and fleet annually, and waste as per the existing WRAPP requirements, that is biennially to DECC and every year in annual reports.
Only agencies with the largest vehicle fleets, accounting for 95% of the NSW Government fleet are required to report on fleet.
